Starting her animal career in animal management at the Lost Dogs Home, Christie soon realised that understanding animal behaviour would help with education and animal welfare of companion animals. Becoming a positive reinforcement dog trainer and completing a diploma in animal welfare and various courses to further develop her career in animal welfare she then built a pet minding and dog walking business.
Joining Onsite Pet Care and Hairy Hounds Playground in 2012 ensured that all clients could be catered for, no matter what the needs of their fur-family.
She has spent the last 6 years volunteering in Indonesia (Northern Sumatra & Balikpapan) working with the locals to increase animal welfare.
‘My vision was to create a family business (the team and the animals being the family) where my passion for responsible pet ownership and education could lead me on a path to help some of the less fortunate animals of the world. We are truly blessed to live in such a fortunate country. Australia has it’s own animal welfare issues of course but it’s been such an honour to work with teams in Asia and be a small part of the change for these animals”
